I stand at the kids school waiting for them to come out. Some days I am in scrubs, some days I look cute. Then the girls come out. I have been asked on several occasions where I purchase their outfits, shoes, hair accessories. I get compliments on my clothing, shoes and purses. People seem surprised when I reply, “Kmart”.
Then come the emails. They start out as casual invites to playdates, or PTA questions and end up with: “how much was that purple dress you had on?” I usually go to sears.com or kmart.com and look up the item and email the link. I also post things I am going to buy or have bought on twitter, facebook or pinterest. I feel like I am a personal shopper for many of my friends. I know how to dress a body, whether male or female, old or young, thick or thin. I know about rooshing, irregular hemlines, 1 shoulder shirts. I know how to take a look from day to night. I know how to find the right LBD and accessorize it to look like a million bucks even if you only spend 30.
Right now, you too can have the opportunity to be a personal shopper by applying here.
I am excited for back to school shopping. With the girls entering kindergarten and third grade, they are developing their own sense of style and are very vocal in decision making while shopping.
