Travel: Ocean City Maryland

The other favorite vacation spot for our family is Ocean City Maryland. Having a house there is a money saver, you can take groceries, cook meals, and do wash. Our house includes membership to a pool and a parking pass for the pool at the beach. The pool also has a restaurant and bathrooms and showers. The kids run back and forth all day between the pool and the beach. Our drive is around 3 hours, the same to Jersey Shore. We have our favorite rest stop which is about halfway in Smyrna DE. The girl’s race 3 times around the fountain.

Another favorite stop is about 20 miles from our final destination. In Millsboro DE is a great Mexican Restaurant called Quezalteca. My mom told me they built a sister restaurant right on the main road now but I will have to get details. I have spent my birthday the past 6 years at Quezalteca and I have never had anything I didn’t love. They have great frozen margaritas, La Gringa quesadillas which is chicken, refried beans and cheese. The tacos are great and the nachos and salsa which are bottomless are also wonderful. I’ve never had room for dessert so I know nothing about the choices. The town itself is adorable. Very small town with cute antique shops and conveinently located near the beach. Being that we are both in the medical field and there are nursing homes on every corner, I always try to convince DF that we need to move here. Another favorite stop for the kids is the kite shop on the boardwalk. They even have a webcam attached to a kite so when my parents go down, they call us and we go online and they wave to the kids. We also use it to check the weather at the beach. Ocean City had provided us with a family friendly destination for everyone in our household. It is very affordable for us to go down several times a summer.
